It's that time of year where you're inundated with goal-setting for 2018 or "make this year the best year yet!"... seems like everywhere you turn on social media, someone's got the answer.
Woman, let me be the first to get real with you. Setting goals is one thing. Making vision boards - yes, I do feel that's a great practice. Yet if you're not executing on a daily basis, then it's all for nothing.
I learned this very thing just yesterday. I'm still setting up shop and my to-do list is longer than lineups at the Apple Store when the latest iPhone comes out. Yet I found myself binge-watching TV for longer than I expected. Sure, the show was pretty interesting and I did want to see what happened, but that meant I didn't get done what I had wanted to.
I know this is the year my business takes off. Yet how can I do that watching TV? (Real) News flash - I can't. But I did something that most people wouldn't tell you to do when you find yourself feeling stuck and not executing like a boss.
I got still. Seriously - I took about 20 minutes to meditate and ask my Self what was preventing me from moving forward. The answer was fear. I was afraid of doing the task because of its size, cost, blah blah blah. So I took a few minutes to address those fears, thanked them for being there and told them to move on.
That thing I was afraid to get done? It's this website. As you can see, it's been built. Not too shabby I daresay!
